This natural amphitheatre, with a capacity of 150,000 people, hosts singing festivals. Historically, it is an extremely important place since it was here that, at the end of the 1980s, the independence fighters gathered to launch what was called "the Singing Revolution". On 23 August 1989, nearly two million Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian Balts formed a human chain across 687 km of the three capitals. Many events and concerts are held here today.
