TRADITIONAL HOUSES

On Penghu Island, the traditional houses of Laogu, usually built with coral and/or limestone, are mostly more than a hundred years old and attract visitors in search of authenticity. These buildings are in the style of Fujian architecture and are among the last witnesses of this culture. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised to see that these villages are still full of life and that part of the younger generation still resides there, even if some have preferred to move to Taiwan to find work.
