HINOKI VILLAGE

Originally, this small village served as the residence of the Chiayi rangers under the Japanese administration. Today, this complex of twenty-eight recently renovated Japanese houses is now Chiayi's main tourist attraction. Shops and tea houses occupy these wooden houses, separated from each other by alleys and beautiful Japanese style Zen gardens. A very pleasant visit that testifies to the heritage of the Japanese period, although the whole is not really authentic.
