XIAOYOUKENG

A geological site of prime importance where one often comes across apprentice chemists or geologists accompanied by their teacher! This zone, located on the north pass of Mount Qixing, is characterized by the friability of its rock, eroded by acid-rich hot springs and sulphuric gases. The phenomenon of fumaroles, appearing on the flank of the extinct volcano, is particularly visible here, as is the phenomenon of hot springs, some of whose infiltrations can be seen. The place is also famous for bird watching.
