PUEK TIAN STATUES
A small seaside resort known as Puek Tian, home to statues representing a poet, a mermaid...
In the small seaside resort of Puek Tian, in honor of Thailand's most famous 19th-century poet, Phu Sunthon, several statues have been placed on the beach or in the sea. On the beach, the statue of the poet, a mermaid, a warrior on a dragon horse, and in the sea, a giant turtle, an ogress and her much smaller husband facing each other. The statue of the ogress is monumental and almost frightening. Located 18 km north of Cha Am, the beach at Puek Tian, on the other hand, is nothing to write home about, and you can't even swim there.
