BAN CHIANG ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
An archaeological site containing Bronze Age artefacts that testify to the existence of an agrarian culture at that time.
This archaeological site, a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1992, is located within the grounds of Wat Pho Si Nai. Excavations in 1966 revealed a number of skeletons, pottery and jewelry. The site contains Bronze Age artefacts, proving the existence of an agrarian culture at that time. Incidentally, in 2008, thousands of objects belonging to the site were found illegally in the USA.
