Read moreLocated north of Padungpanit Road, near the Nuea River, Wat Buphira is the most famous temple of King And. It is here that the greatest Buddha in prayer posture in the country is found, overlooking the city from the top of its 67.2 meters high, counting the 8-meter platform on which it is placed. Known as Luang Pho Yai, (or Phra Phuttha Rattana Mongkhon Mahamuni), this imposing golden Buddha was built between 1973 and 1979. When you arrive nearby, you can have a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings.
