Temple in a cave accessible by a red staircase, with dragon sculptures, a small museum and a Buddhist nun.

The temple is housed in a cavern accessible by a very long red staircase, flanked on each side by sculptures of dragons (Mangkorn), with 95 steps. The temple has a small museum displaying a variety of ancient objects found in the area. However, it owes its popularity to a Buddhist nun who, from time to time, performs a plank in a deep pool, assuming various poses of contemplation. It's more carnival than meditation, but the Thais love it!

Ce temple, situé à quelques km de Kanchanaburi et installé dans des grottes, est vraiment surprenant. On atteint la grotte par un long escalier rouge. Il y a un peu partout des sculptures étonnantes qui réjouissent les enfants. En se faufilant on pénètre dans d'autres petites grottes, il y a plein de recoins avec des statues, et en suivant un petit chemin on peut sortir de la grotte par une échelle. Il faut être vigilant car c'est parfois très étroit et un peu glissant mais c'est faisable pour des enfants (ma fille de 5 ans a vraiment aimé, elle a même voulu refaire ce parcours - on l'a fait sans chaussures, ne sachant si celles-ci étaient autorisées). Il faut bien chercher l'entrée de ce petit "chemin", plusieurs touristes ne l'ont pas vue. Je recommande vraiment ce temple (même si je n'ai pas vu la fameuse "nonne flottante") !!
