This chain-owned establishment stands out for several reasons. Firstly, it's located opposite the railway station, ideal for stocking up for your train journey or grabbing a bite to eat on arrival. Secondly, it offers a wide range of snacks in a modern, impeccable setting: small pizzas, croque-monsieur, pastas, cakes, pastries, good croissants... Finally, the drinks on the menu are delicious: coffees, teas and especially cha manao (iced tea with lemon), one of the favorite drinks of young Thais.

This establishment actually comprises three entities: the Churn Café, open until 5pm, a takeaway stand selling fresh cold-pressed fruit juices and drinks, and Tangluk, a bar-restaurant open until late. The Churn is a small, elegant and friendly café, with a decor reminiscent of a bygone era. Tangluk is spread over several floors and offers good Thai cuisine and a myriad of drinks. In the evening, live bands provide the ambiance. Located along the railroad line, you can even watch the trains go by..

Ban Mai is a Phitsanulok institution. Set in a small alleyway, this restaurant in the heart of an old building offers a classic setting that's a little old-fashioned, but nevertheless pleasant. The menu features tasty traditional recipes, with a wide choice of dishes. We particularly liked the red duck curry (gaeng phed ped yang), smooth and delicately spicy, and the fried fish in red sauce (chu chee pla nue deng). Very good desserts too. Service is professional and friendly, and we'll be happy to recommend the best dishes if you're unsure.

This floating restaurant is located on the Nan River, close to Wat Chan and the Saturday night market . The setting is very neat, with lots of wood panelling, mini-fountains on the river, a large bus as a room and life-size statues of Marvel heroes. We sit out in the open air, overlooking the neighboring floating establishments; a band sometimes performs here. The food is quite ordinary, but inexpensive. The service is very attentive. A good place to dine and have a drink.

The popularity of this restaurant lies more in its setting than in its cuisine. Located facing the river, in a beautiful traditional wooden building, you can choose to sit on the floor around small tables or, more typically, sit on the sides with hanging legs (which gives the restaurant its name). Very few à la carte dishes: soups with egg noodles or rice noodles, most often with pork. Pad thai and hors d'oeuvres are also available, including excellent pork toast.

Nannum is one of Phitsanulok's finest restaurants. It offers excellent Thai cuisine in a charming setting. The dishes are tasty and nicely presented. You can sit in the air-conditioned dining rooms or al fresco in the garden, where the river provides a pleasant breeze in the evening. During the day, you can enjoy fruit juices, desserts or just a drink. In the evening, live musicians perform a repertoire of songs in Thai and English.
