Jean-Claude Leclerc combines elegance and sobriety. The à la carte menu features noble products, prepared with finesse. On the seafood side, dishes are cooked to perfection, such as red mullet with Mediterranean accents. Desserts feature seasonal fruits and grand cru chocolate. The muffled atmosphere and impeccable service make for a memorable experience, especially as the affordable lunch formulas allow you to discover the Michelin-starred restaurant without breaking the bank. The only regret is that the menu could do with a little more boldness.

Service pas au niveau (présentation du dessert qui a glissé entre la cuisine et la table), compliqué d'adapté un plat lors d'une allergie, menu sur le site 20 ans mais pas proposé quand on donne les cartes. Vin au verre mais d'explication autre que blanc ou rouge. Les quantités dans l'assiette sont également à augmenter par rapport au prix.
La salle et le cadre restent agréables.
Ce restaurant reste un bon restaurant où j'ai passé un bon moment, mais il ne mérite malheureusement plus son étoile et le niveau de prix.
I cannot explain just how sublime the lunch experience at JCL was - the most gracious service even with a child in our small party. The food indescribably good, the balance of textures and flavours a creation of absolute perfection.
Who cares what the price is? In comparison to what we have paid in Paris, Chamonix, or Lyon, it’s under priced.
If you’re in Clermont Ferrand don’t miss the opportunity. Please, take my advice!
