First wheat mill in the Colón region, built in the Dutch style and requiring a lot of wind to operate
The first wheat mill in the region, dating from 1887, it was founded by French, Savoyard, and Swiss who had established a small colony in the area since the mid-1850s. The mill bears the name of the man who built it: Jean-Baptiste Forclaz who arrived in the area in 1859. The mill was designed to grind wheat and corn. It is built in the Dutch manner, and requires a lot of wind to operate. However, the area is not very windy, so it would seem that the mill never fully functioned.

The city of colon is worth visiting for the atmosphere but not really for its monuments. The banks of the river are the main attraction.
