23 kilometers south of Bentota. Famous for its traditional masks, Ambalangoda is worth a stop to visit the Ariyapala Mask Museum, traditional wooden masks of Kolam rituals, as well as the adjoining dance school; both are run by the same family. The town is also home to the Delduwa Vivekarama Aranya Senasanaya, a Buddhist temple located on an island in Lake Madampe. There is a gigantic 35m long reclining Buddha and interesting murals of dancing girls. Built in 1894, Ambalangoda railway station is an important station between Colombo and Galle.
