64 kilometers south of Colombo and 50 km from Galle. Apart from its long beaches and its often raging ocean, Bentota is not a lively seaside resort. The quietness of the place is however conducive to rest and relaxation. There are some excellent places to have a meal and/or spend the night, as well as the proximity of the Bentota Ganga River, which is ideal for sports activities and nice boat trips.
