Things to see and do Cerknica

Its owner, Vekoslav Kebe, has created a small museum dedicated to the lake, which is simply the largest intermittent lake on the Old Continent. Križna jama is an 8.5 km long karst cave dug and fed by the waters of the Bloke Plateau with 22 underground lakes. The aquatic part can be visited by canoe in groups of five. Equipment is provided. This castle, mentioned since 1296, is one of the best preserved in the country. Romantic elements, such as the towers, were introduced into the architecture in the 19th century. Two rooms are decorated in exotic, Turkish and Egyptian styles. Only the exterior is really worth seeing. In front of the current entrance gate, you can see the old drawbridge, the moat is still present, the walls make you think of a real fortress, the white of the building mitigates this impression. The surrounding forest makes you believe in fairy tales. Really photogenic place.
