The Križanke Summer Theatre is Ljubljana's most popular stage for open-air concerts. Thanks to the acoustics of the venue, which is sheltered from the weather by a large removable tarpaulin, it is mainly used to host first-rate musical events, including the Ljubljana Festival in summer. Plečnik was entrusted with the renovation of the premises in the early 1950s. It was undertaken on the ruins of the monastery of the Knights of the Teutonic Order. The atmosphere is most pleasant during the beautiful hours of summer and some of the concerts are free.
