Sagada is an authentic village located 18 km west of Bontoc, 415 km from Manila via Baguio. Isolated, perched 1,500 m high on a mountain peak, this charming, peaceful village has preserved its traditions. Thus, the inhabitants and the younger generation of this peaceful community have kept their traditional names, to which have been added the current first name and the indispensable customary nickname attributed to most Filipinos. Similarly, funeral traditions and the rituals that accompany them are still practiced today. This is why coffins of the deceased are stacked or hung at the entrances to the many caves. Visiting the caves is Sagada's main tourist attraction. They are recognized as the most varied in the archipelago. You'll have no trouble finding accommodation here, except during school vacations.
