Coruripe is located about 90 km south of Maceió and has 30 km of beautiful beaches. From here you can continue to Pontal de Coruripe (9 km), a popular fishing village, but which has kept its authenticity away from the tourist pressure and crowded beaches. It is a good place to stay for a few days and enjoy the peaceful and colourful surroundings. While the men are busy fishing, the women are busy with basketry work. Pontal de Coruripe is one of those places where mass tourism has not yet altered the relationship between tourists and locals and where the two worlds coexist almost harmoniously
