CIDADE ALTA - CIDADE HISTÓRICA

The remains of the early colonization are gathered at the top of the hill that dominates the town and that is called the upper town. The old town can be reached by cab or by taking the stairs that connect it to the center (avoid taking the walk during the hot hours of the day, although the view from the top is worth the effort). On and around the large esplanade delimited by fortifications, you can visit the main monuments.
