BEACHES

The beaches of Morro de São Paulo are all open for swimming, with transparent and shallow waters. They are generally calm, but you can surf on the Primeira Praia on days when the sea is rough. The one in Gamboa, which is less frequented and can be reached in 30 minutes by walking from the port in the opposite direction to the village (a very nice walk), along the beach, has a wall of clay softened by the water, which can be used to coat the body before a bath in the sea.
