Read moreLaunched in 1997, the first line was opened in 2014 for the World Cup. Today, 23 stations are in operation on the entire 42-kilometer network. Line 1 runs from Lapa to Piraja, on the outskirts of Salvador, and line 2 of the Soteropolitan metro, connected to line 1 at Acceso Norte station, went into operation in spring 2018. It serves Salvador airport, enabling passengers to reach the city center much more quickly than by road. Wagons are comfortable, air-conditioned and safe.

Metro. Metro line 2 connects the airport to downtown Salvador in 30 minutes for R$3.90. Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday until 2 p.m.
Bus and cab. Cooperative" cab fares are quite excessive. Negotiate with shared cabs for R$130. The bus is less convenient. Daytime. Departures every 20 minutes.

Mar Grande: every 30 minutes from 6am to 7.30pm.
Morro de São Paulo: four departures per day (8:30am, 9am, 1pm and 2:30pm). Two types of boats depending on the schedule and the company; 2.5 hour trip. During the summer, other departures are scheduled.
During Carnival and Christmas, it is better to buy tickets in advance
TERMINAL MARÍTIMO SÃO JOAQUIM
Read moreThis terminal serves the island of Itaparica exclusively. On weekends and during the high season, a large number of Soteropolitanos go to the island. It is therefore necessary to anticipate well.
The first departure for Bom Despacho (Itaparica) is at 5:00 am (6:00 am on Sundays and holidays), then it leaves every hour until 10:00 pm. The last departure of the day is at 11:30 pm (1h30 between the second last and the last one).The trip lasts about 45 minutes.
