A 3-storey oratory museum, housing a rich and astonishing collection of oratories of all shapes and sizes.
The museum of the oratories is certainly one of the most interesting museums of the city. It houses a very rich and amazing collection of oratories of all kinds and sizes, often of extreme finesse. Some are made of almost pure gold. This collection of more than 120 pieces, which are spread over the 3 floors of the museum, is located in a nice little colonial building next to the Carmelite church (Igreja do carmo). An interesting documentation in French can be found at the entrance. Now reopened to the public.
