European Gothic replica featuring a royal chapel housing the tombs of Dom Pedro II and Dona Teresa Cristina.

The Catedral Sao Pedro de Alcantara is a replica of the European Gothic, with curious red tiles. Inside you can see the Royal Chapel that houses the burials of Dom Pedro II, the last emperor of Brazil and his wife, Empress Dona Teresa Cristina. The via crucis is French, like the image of St. Peter of Alcântara, carved in Carrara marble. In the evening, the cathedral adorns itself with a pretty colourful illumination.
