A popular beach for surfers and naturists, opposite the Isla do Japones, renowned for its rollers and intimate setting

The praia Brava (angry beach) is hidden behind the hill on the bank of the canal opposite the São Matheus fort. This beach is said to be a favorite of surfers and naturists. It is also known for its scrolls and its intimate character which favours nudism. It is indeed an almost deserted beach and devoid of any bar or restaurant. Opposite is the island of Japones. Be careful to inquire before leaving to go to the beach in front of the island on foot, the path is badly indicated. The surf beach is not naturist.
