ROMAN CASTELLUM OF CAN BLAI
A Roman camp composed of five defensive towers and a quadrangular enclosure
Just before arriving at Es Caló de Sant Agustí. A ruined Roman settlement from the third century (also known as Can Pins) with five defensive towers and a quadrangular enclosure. The place was both a refuge and a strategic point to observe Ibiza. This type of construction is common in the Mediterranean region. Several excavation campaigns have been carried out by the Archaeological Museum of Ibiza and Formentera and the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.
