Bab's is the brainchild of Barbara Hoornaert, ex-sommelier at the now Michelin-starred Barge, who decided to strike out on her own and create her own wine bar. A cocoon in her image: simple and convivial, with a large counter and customers who arrive as friends. On offer are a dozen wines by the glass, a much wider selection by the bottle (mostly French labels) and a variety of home-made small plates, from appetizers to desserts. Good bottles are also available to take away, recommended by Barbara and her sidekick Félicia.
