Managed by Kevin Lejeune and Virginie Essers, La Canne has moved a little further into town, as it is now housed in the hushed halls of the Steigenberger Hotel. But it has kept its spirit of a neighborhood restaurant, and every morning, the chef and his team search out the best produce to offer a short menu of cuisine that is both modern and gourmet, full of nuances. Good food is nothing more than good products well processed, and one star later, it seems that the chef has found the winning recipe!

In 2022, La Canne en Ville moved to a prestigious location at the foot of the Steigenberger Wiltcher's Hotel, on the famous Avenue Louise. This move provided the opportunity to offer an à la carte menu as well as a set menu.

My meat, however good, came completely cold.
From a 1-star Michelin you expect better...
Sowohl die weinbegleitung in der sogar ein orange Wein vertreten war als auch die alkoholfreie Begleitung waren hervorragend.
Leider haben wir bei jedem Gang eingestaubt weingläser bekommen. Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob ein sauberes oder altes poliertuch genutzt wurde, allerdings erwarte ich in solch einem Restaurant besseres.
Ansonsten hervorragend daher trotzdem fünf Sterne.
Le blâme n'est pourtant pas à placer sur ces jeunes étudiants engagés semble-t-il récemment mais davantage sur la stratégie visible de rendement du restaurant.
Il y a autant de tables que dans un lunch garden donc assurer une qualité de service constante est un exercice plutôt impossible. Le côté rendement economique s'est ressenti dans nos assiette mais également dans nos verres avec la suggestion de vins très parcimonieuse en quantité.
Une erreur subie par la table d'a côté justifiée par le serveur par un "ne vous inquiétez pas j'ai ma petite idée sur le coupable" à eu lieu d'aiguiser le sens de l'observation chez les clients des tables d'a côté. Et cela n'a pas manqué pour nous : les erreurs de couvert, le café oublié, l'addition donnée à la va vite, nos manteaux qu'il a fallu réclamer, l'absence d'accompagnement à la sortie.
Ces erreurs qui font sourire dans un restaurant classique font grincer les dents dans un étoilé à plus de 500€ pour deux personnes.
