SERRA DO FACHO VIEWPOINT (MIRADOURO DO LA SERRA DO FACHO)

This viewpoint offers a beautiful view over the beach and the bay of Praia da Vitória, as well as the Serra do Cume. Its name(facho: beam) comes from the fact that, long ago, a bonfire was lit here every night to serve as a lighthouse for boats. In addition, there is a monument to the Immaculate Heart of Mary(Imaculado Coração de Maria) on the belvedere. It can be reached in about ten minutes on foot by a staircase or by car
