Things to see and do Praia Da Vitória

South of the beach of Praia da Vitoria, near Cabo da Praia, a small fortress which is the only vestige of the nine fortifications which have protected the town from looters since the 16th century. The Ponta do Cabo offers an excellent view of the coast and the city from the Riviera viewpoint. Make this small detour, you will not be disappointed by the view, we promise. The fort is extremely well preserved and allows to realize the military architecture of the archipelago. You can't miss it with its yellow walls!

Just ten kilometers south-west of Praia da Vitória, this miradouro is reached via a pretty cobbled road. From the top of the viewpoint, a breathtaking panorama of the entire interior of the island of Terceira. As far as the eye can see, green landscapes and a patchwork of fields criss-crossed by the distinctive volcanic stone walls. To be admired only in fine weather, when the sky is clear. Worth the detour.
