PARISH CHURCH OF SANTA CRUZ

Built in 1456 by Jácome de Bruges, the island's first captain-donor, and not completed until 1517, it was the alterations carried out in the early 19th^century that gave it its current appearance. The portal, with its arcade of five arches, was donated by King Manuel ^I. The interior, a blend of different styles, houses a beautiful alabaster statue of the Infant Jesus in a silver box from the former Convent of Jesus in the sacristy.
