LES NATURALISTES
Member of France Nature Environnement. The group's primary mission is to protect and enhance the island's natural wealth and resources. The association is run by paid staff and volunteers. Every month, a programme of outings is planned among hikes, sports and cultural activities. Depending on the level of walking, the association organizes the tour of Mount Choungui followed by the beach at N'Gouja, the Bouéni peninsula, the giant bamboos of Kwalé, the Dziani Bolé, Mount Combani, the steps of Acoua and Ouangani-Ouangani through the Andilabé pass. On the sea side, initiation PMT to the S-Pass and pinnacle of the islet M'Bouzi, marine mammal safaris and during the great tides a coastal hike on Petite-Terre, kayaking trips in the mangroves of Hajangua and Dembéni. Introduction to geology with a specialist, history break with a visit to the Soulou sugar factory or watching the turtles during the bivouac at Point Saziley. A certain number of products are now marketed by Naturalists (spices, scented soaps, essential oils...), visit the Coconi and Mamoudzou markets. Regular holding of "Naturalist Cafés", thematic conferences.
