Former bridge connecting Bahia Honda Key and Spanish Harbor Key, and for the passage of the Overseas Railway, now an automobile bridge.
The Bahia Honda Rail Bridge is an old abandoned railroad bridge that connected Bahia Honda Key and Spanish Harbor Key. It is 1,541 meters long. Built between 1905 and 1912 for the passage of theOverseas Railway, it was damaged by a hurricane in 1935 and then bought by the state to become a car bridge on the Overseas Highway, from 1938. Closed since 1972, two parts of its structure have been removed in order to leave the passage free for maritime traffic.
