Site located in the Timucuan Preserve where you can hike on one of the many trails or picnic in the wilderness
French Huguenots occupied this site in 1564 and established the first Protestant settlement in the United States. The 130-acre (52 ha) memorial, located in Arlington, contains a replica of the fort built at the time on the Saint Johns River as well as a museum with 16th-century French and Indian artifacts. The site is located in the Timucuan Preserve where you can also hike one of the many trails or picnic in the wilderness.
