MUSEUM OF HISTORY
Museum of Stories in Fort Myers offers a chronological tour of little-known aspects of the city's history
Hundreds of replicas and original objects trace millions of years of history of Fort Myers, false mammoths defenses (permanent expo: The world of giants) to the real kitchen tools used by the Calusas Indians - like the knives of shark teeth - are assembled in a Spanish style building built in 1920, which served as a railway station at the beginning of the century for the Atlantic Coastline (an interactive tour of a period wagon). This chronological tour addresses little known points in the history of the city, such as the arrival of the black pioneer, Nelson Tillis, circa 1866 or a Reconstitution house, the habitat of the first Floridiens settlers, consisting of one bedroom, kitchen and bathroom outside. Indeed, the wooden shack resisted storm Charly in the fall of 2004.
