The most comfortable campground in the Big Cypress Preserve, located in a pleasant setting, in the middle of nature with a small lake.
Midway Campgroung is the most comfortable campground in the Big Cypress Preserve, although it is still quite basic. It provides campers with water, electricity (at the 26 RV sites, but it is possible to pitch a tent), drinking water and sanitary facilities. There is no shower on site. Each tent site (10 in total) has a picnic table and a grill. The setting is very pleasant, in the middle of nature with a small lake around which you can walk.

I usually don’t leave reviews but wanted to make sure Tom is recognized for going above and beyond after watching him interact with noisy and obnoxious campers
We're grateful for Tom's exceptional hospitality and look forward to returning soon!
Stay was Feb 16
Good to come here to get away from it all.
The shady sites are sites 17 and higher since they have trees of enough size to shade the site
There is a bathroom on the campground with urinals and one stall, no showers.
There is a dump station and a separate potable water station, so fill up on fresh water before backing into your RV site.
The camp hosts are very nice and personable and visibly make their rounds around the park.
Did not see any alligators or fish bigger than 5 inches in the pond, but either or both could be in there!
Recommend that you use as little external light as possible since many bugs will be attracted to the light (we were here in March 2024). Only a few mosquitoes or noseeums, but still stayed in screened in tents or in RV after sunset. Lots of dragon flies. Yay!
