Architect and sculptor Kenneth Treister was commissioned to design the project in 1984 at the request of the committee involved in creating a memorial to the 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. If you see this gigantic hand stretched towards the sky, to which dozens of individuals are clutching, you will have to make a long journey to discover the rest of the composition. These works are moving in their truth and simplicity, putting human feelings in the foreground.
