PINCIO
Read moreOverlooking the piazza del Popolo, the Pincio gardens allow you to enter the Villa Borghese. Set up on the small hill of the same name during the Napoleonic occupation according to Giuseppe Valadier's plans, they are covered with oaks, umbrella pines and palm trees. Be careful, to access it, it climbs a little bit! But when you reach the top, you are quickly rewarded with a panoramic view of Rome and the Piazza del Popolo from the belvedere. It is particularly appreciated at the end of the day, when the sun sets.

CORTILE DELLA PIGNA
Read moreThe "cour de la pomme de pain" (pigna) is the first courtyard to be accessed at the beginning of the visit. Michelangelo created the niche that houses the famous giant bronze bread apple. This one, monumental, dates from the 1st or 2nd century. It was a fountain from which water flowed through the holes in the gables. In the centre of the Pigna courtyard, we see a modern work, Sphere with sphere, by Arnaldo Pomodoro, created in 1990. It replaces the statue of Saint Peter, now visible in the gardens of the City. All around the courtyard, Roman antiquities.
