Among the specialties on offer, which are above all local, one stands out for its originality: the "francesinha" (literally the little French girl), a culinary ex-libris of the city of Porto. While this sandwich has some similarities with our croque-monsieur, here the ingredients are much more numerous and substantial, which will leave you hungry once you've tried it: sandwich bread, cheese, ham and two types of sausage, all served with a lightly spiced sauce and homemade fries.
