THE WATERS OF ST. GERON
Visit the waters of Saint-Géron, naturally carbonated and very rich in magnesium and calcium.
Saint-Géron natural mineral water is a spring whose origins date back to the Gallo-Roman era. Coins and ancient wells were found when the spring was tapped in the 19th century. The first bottles also featured Faustina Augusta (2nd-century Roman empress) and Ceres (Roman goddess of fertility). Thanks to its fine taste and medicinal virtues, Saint-Géron water became the "queen of table waters". Naturally carbonated, it is very rich in magnesium and calcium, and can become a valuable dietary supplement in the fight against certain illnesses such as anemia, gastric disorders and diabetes.
In 2006, a bottling plant was opened in Saint-Géron. This unique water now finds its place (within its glass bottle designed by the painter-designer Alberto Bari) among the finest tables at home and abroad.
