Just a 5-minute drive from St Paul's Bay, this is certainly one of the best restaurants on the island. It serves Mediterranean and Maltese cuisine (we particularly liked the meats and the artichoke starter) in the sumptuous rustic décor of a stone house over 200 years old. The shady, wooded garden is very pleasant in summer, with views over the bay and its salt marshes. The service is impeccable, and the discreet music and lighting are perfect. There's also a wide selection of wines from all over the world. We love it!

Ta'Cassia restaurant welcomes you to a characterful century-old house, carefully converted and designed to retain its old-world charm. Overlooking Salina Bay and the surrounding countryside, it's an inviting place to relax. The restaurant offers local Mediterranean cuisine with international influences. In the heat of summer, you can enjoy your meal in the tree-lined garden. Inside, a dining room with an open fireplace provides the perfect setting for romantic moments in winter. Famous for its spit-roasted suckling pig, an emblematic "majjalata" dish, this restaurant also offers a varied range of starters, main courses and desserts. Try the beef carpaccio, served with parmesan shavings and truffle oil. Or try the local snails, hand-picked and cooked in a light tomato sauce with fresh herbs. Try traditional pasta dishes with rabbit, such as spaghetti with rabbit sauce, or Ravjul, a Maltese pasta speciality filled with fresh Gozo cheese - a real delight! You can also enjoy menus featuring suckling pig, accompanied by grilled sausages and spicy chicken wings.

Malheureusement, j'ai commandé des asperges avec de la crêpe. J'ai reçu 4 tiges d'asperges vertes dans un roux et un petit morceau de crêpe gratiné au fromage. Je ne le recommande pas, sans goût sauf celui de la graisse. Jamais mangé aussi mal.
Il faut cependant s'attendre à ce qu'une vieille dame à quatre pattes passe de table en table pour demander des offrandes. ;)
