KREMIOTIS WATERFALLS
Small waterfalls, 5 to 10 m high, in a green setting. But in summer, little water, lots of people and litter.
Located 570 m above sea level, this series of small waterfalls 5-10 m high (Καταρράκτες Κρεμιώτη/Katarraktes Kremioti) is billed as Kritou Tera's big attraction. It's actually pretty disappointing, especially in summer: water from the Kremiotis River is scarce, it's crowded and littered, and there's a charge for access and parking. But the access path is nice, through a forest, then through a tunnel that was dug in 1930 to bring water to the village. And here we note the presence of the freshwater crab (Potamon potamios).
