VASILIKON WINERY
This renowned winery houses a decent restaurant (Cypriot, Greek and Italian dishes) and a small wine museum. Here, the Kiriakides produce 350,000 liters a year, either from the estate's 16 ha or from grapes purchased from other winemakers. Thanks to a special microclimate (at 650-700 m altitude and 5 km from the sea), the xinisteri and morokanela grape varieties produce good whites. In reds, however, the Agios Onoufrios range (a blend of maratheftiko, lefkada, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, syrah and merlot) is disappointing.
