The only one of its kind in France in the field of decorative arts, from bobbin lace to mechanical lacemaking, the museum lets you discover the lives of lacemakers, as well as the skills of this craft, a witness to the history of Retournac and the Velay region. The collection is impressive, with over 450,000 pieces. The lacemakers' guides will welcome you, answer your questions and show you how to make bobbin lace by hand. A unique place. Great collections, really worth a visit. I was lucky to meet other local artists for extra expo. Was pity didn't see the lace sculpture, but in all, it's a rich experience.

Superbe exposition, intelligemment documentée (certains panneaux un peu sombre). Richesse complétée généreusement, par l'érudition de la charmante hôtesse d'accueil. (10.11.23)

Le musée est très intéressant, l'exposition proposée était du grand art. Nous avons profité de la journée du patrimoine pour aussi faire la visite guidée de la manufacture d'Auguste Experton. Préserver son patrimoine régional et culturel est très important. Je conseille la visite.
