From Arcata, the road follows the ocean lagoons, among which stands out Big Lagoon, an area particularly suitable for sea kayaking that leads to this beautiful park, partially located on the coast, north of Humboldt County. Here the kings are the redwoods, even larger and more impressive than those in the Yosemite Mountains. The approximately 53,400 acres on which they are spread are a small paradise for hikers and local wildlife, including otters, beavers, deer, elk, mountain lions, lynx and black bears - among others. The park is a national park and is made up of three other state parks: Prairie Creek, Del Norte Coast and Jedediah Smith.
