Museum in old Salinas with film clips, theater props and manuscripts of Steinbeck books
Born in 1902 in Salinas, Steinbeck spent his childhood with the local cowboys before attending Stanford University. After a stint in New York, he returned to California and wrote novels such as Of Mice and Men, which takes place near Salinas and was a great success. A discreet character, Steinbeck died in 1968. Located in old Salinas, the museum features film clips, theater props and manuscripts of his books.
