With an over all friendly atmosphere, outstanding service. The food is out of this world amazing. With strong southern flavors shine brightly through with there own interpretation and style. 100% on comfort food

Reviews were a 4.3 which made me excited to visit! However, the environment was underwhelming, service was good and attentive, but the food was not as great. I had the burnt ends, they were warm and chewy and I was't happy with them at all. The baked beans were interesting as well, they were more like a bad version of chili beans.

We visited late in the evening for dinner, the meat was served cold. Also the meat didn’t feel fresh. I wouldn’t recommend eating at least for dinner. The only good part is they have really good bbq sauces.

Food was amazing, it’s shocking but the service was EVEN BETTER than the food, and that’s hard to believe because the food was the best I’ve had in a while. Every server was amazing, atmosphere was amazing, music was amazing and so much more. The bartender was the best, super sweet and was awesome. Also, the barbecue sauce *chefs kiss* 1000/10 recommend.

The pulled chicken Sammy I got was barely pulled and wasn't fully cooked and only had the tiniest bit of BBQ sauce. The cornbread was decent and the key lime pie was great but seemed more like a key lime cheesecake.

Good BBQ, but was a little sweet for my taste.

Visited 19MAR2024 - First time visiting. Initially went to the location near PayPal Stadium on Newhall Dr, but there was a line just to order. Went to this location, less than 5 miles away. Certainly an older location compared to the Newhall Dr. location.
Ordered off the a la cart menu. Two spare rib bones, quarter pound of brisket (lean), one Louisiana hot sausage link, and one pint of Southern greens.
The meats were seasoned perfectly and had a light wood smoke flavor. All four BBQ sauces were really good. Unfortunately, the spare ribs and brisket were cooked too fast, which left the meat a bit tough and the fat hadn't rendered enough. The brisket was on the dry side. Another indication of fast cooking. The Louisiana hot sausage link was a little spicy, but not "hot" to me. I believe the Southern greens were kale because they were a brighter shade of green than I'm familiar with. You can see them in the pic. The Southern greens had meat in them, but the overall taste was new to me. I finished the pint of Southern greens by myself if that is any indication of how they tasted. I also ordered sweet tea and a craft beer.
The staff was very friendly. Old school Blues music was playing on the speakers.
My bill came to $49 with tax, before tip.

Burnt Ends nice!????

Ribs were overcooked and bland. Zero smoke flavor and no "tug" on the meat. Fell off the bone.

Rib tips were tough. Everything came sauced which is suspect in itself. Let me decide if it needs sauce.

Best ribs ever. Dining room is uninviting. Staff is wonderful - helpful, friendly. They seem to work well together and were busy taking care of the place when we visited. The hot sauce is HOT ????????????.

I don’t know what happened to this place but it’s changed a lot. I went today and first of all it took more then five minutes for a server to attend us, mind you it was a slow day. There were about five table occupied and it still took them a long time to attend us. When I used to work here years ago the vibe was more lit, the food taste amazing. And now the vibe is boring, the food had no flavor. I didn’t even finish my pull pork, it was plane. I’m just saying for this being the first location you would think the service would be great, fantastic food, lit vibe and it’s just not giving any of that. Also the food was cold. Corn bread was good and so was the mac and cheese.

Quintessential American experience.
I stop here every time I am in the US/Bay Area.

I Love Smoking Pig! I always order the pulled pork Sammy. It's nice and lean without fatty chunks. Their whole selection is great. Burnt ends are great as well. Not dry. I will say their dining area smells like stinky eggs... But hey. It's a small price to pay for good BBQ.

Was in town for the Lions game and was walking somewhere else and it smelled so good I had to stop. Great pulled pork sandwich.

I loved this place! ❤️ The food was amazing, and the service was top-notch! Loved the brisket, beans and mac and cheese. We just happened by the place because it was open near us while we were driving around. When we said we hadn't been there before, the guy taking our order gave great recommendations and made sure we left with ALL the flavors of BBQ sauce. Because of him (and the food), I will definitely be going back.

This was not my first visit to this location, but it had been a number of years since then (pre-pandemic) and this was a far more disappointing experience. The dining room itself just looks sad and uninviting and the gender-neutral bathroom is a disaster. (I didn't go into the men's one so I can only guess at that one's state!) If I hadn't needed to use it so urgently, I would have walked right back out of it and skipped it.
The young woman who helped me order was nice, though I was disappointed that they didn't have any baked potatoes. Online info led me to believe they had them, but apparently only "Mondays before 2:00" (that would have been good information to have online, just saying). I ordered a brisket sandwich and I have to say the meat was delicious and plentiful. Far, far better than my last trip to Armadillo Willy's. They let you choose "lean, fatty or mixed;" I ordered mixed and it was indeed a mix. But the way it's slapped onto the really tasty bun made it hard to handle and awkward. Put on some BBQ sauce and it turns into a dripping mess. And the fries were not good. They have that potato-starch coating on them and no flavor (even though there appeared to be pepper on them, which I didn't appreciate.) I barely ate any of mine, so they were a disappointment. Considering the cost, the side should be a compliment and not a detraction. I plan to go back to try to score a baked potato, but not to this location. I'll go to one of the newer ones that isn't as sad.
