Very comfortable hotel with very spacious, bright and luxurious rooms

Housed in a historic building dating back to 1910, the hotel was recently renovated in the spirit of Berkeley, using energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly materials. The choice is yours: views of San Francisco Bay or the surrounding hills. The restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine.

Good hotel in the heart of downtown Berkeley. Centrally located for anything you need to do in Berkeley. Clean and comfy.

Staff and management are beyond amazing. They were incredibly nice and helpful to us, even when fixing mistakes that were 100% our fault. Rooms are small but clean and well appointed.
The only reason I had to dock a star for rooms was that we stayed on the 2nd floor and there was apparently a homeless person staying in one of the rooms right off the elevator. Not sure if it is a voucher program or what but the smell was unmistakable and overwhelming. Luckily our room was far down the hall, but it was always a bummer coming back to the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location, but it's outdated and the hallways have a smell of moss or sewage.
Also the hotel doesn't issue receipts and claims they will email them to you later, but they never follow through.
