Hotel located one block from the Alamo Square, offering prices that sometimes defy all competition
A nice little address, especially for its unbeatable prices. The most basic rooms, however, are dark, without views and small, with a shared bathroom... you've been warned, but at this price you won't find anything else. Those facing the street are brighter, but also noisier. All in all, however, the rooms are well kept. The establishment is very well located, one block from Alamo Square in Hayes Valley.

It seems as though they have recently updated a lot of the fixtures/bathrooms/bedrooms, which was quite nice. It was very clean, which is mostly all we cared about.
The staff was very warm and welcoming! Also a plus in our opinion. I’m not sure why folks are so shocked by the deposit—it’s really not as expensive as most places and as long as you don’t trash the room, you’ll get it back…
The location is perfect—it’s pretty central to most neighborhoods, and you can easily get around with public transit.
The one thing I will say about the room we had is that it was pretty hot in there. We kept the window open and asked for a small fan to get some air circulating in there. Overall, it was fine with the fan, which they were more than willing to give to us.
I’m also unsure of why folks thought this place was noisy… it was very quiet throughout our stay. It may be because we had a more centralized room, and not one that had a window out to the street. If you’re really sensitive to noise, maybe ask for a central room instead.
Affordable. Clean. Modern. Accommodating. Perfect for us, and we will definitely stay again!
Surprised to see some very low score comments - if you pay 50 bucks for the night in the best neighborhood of San Francisco it will not have the same quality as 300pn Marriott. But back to the subject - super clean, smallish rooms, outside great hot showers, free espresso machine coffees in the morning, walkable, safe area. 2 minutes walk to the famous Painted Ladies, 1 minute walk to convenience shop, 1 minute walk to launderette, 10 minutes walk to buzzing bars and restaurants. Walls are admittedly thin, so wear earplugs. And spend the hundreds of dollars that you just saved on accommodation on sth fun ;)
