The 19-story building, with the , its panoramic room at the top, is one of the most beautiful hotels in the city.
In the 19th century, the summit of Nob Hill was home to some fabulous mansions, including the Mark Hopkins mansion, which burned down with the rest of the town in 1906. Here, an ambitious engineer decided to erect one of the city's grandest hotels in 1926. The princely décor in the lobby, with its imposing chandeliers and marble throughout, lives up to its lofty status. The rooms are spacious and the views fabulous. The 19-storey building has a panoramic bar at the top, the Top of The Mark.

This is my wife's happy place. Great location on the top of Nob Hill, GREAT service, and the Top of the Mark is just a nice place to hang out, have a drink, and enjoy the view. Rooms are smallish, but nicely decorated and appointed. Just a grand old lady with a lot of history.

I have stayed in many Intercontinental hotels and unfortunately, my recent stay at the Mary Hopkins Hotel was quite disappointing in comparison. I am sure many years ago this would have been an-impressive hotel but it is now desperately in need of renovation. The room size was small. Additionally, my children were disappointed with the lack of facilities in the hotel. In the evening, the rooms were very hot, and the constant noises from either heating and plumbing made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. On several occasions, strangely, there were no staff members in the lobby. (I would like to say that the staff were very helpful and friendly when asked for help) I have mild asthma, which usually starts with dust, and i suffered across the 3 nights stay. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel until they address these issues and undergo a much-needed renovation.

Very old and historic Hotel in San Francisco! It is emaculant inside as they keep it like it was just built! Even has the old style turnstyle doors up front! Worth a visit even if your not staying there!

The hotel is in a great location, and the accommodations and staff are A+. A few snags but insignificant compared to the pros. I will stay at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental again.
