Hotel located on one of the most elegant streets in Union Square, offering beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms

The smell of old books emanates from this hotel, inspired by the literary salons of the 1930s. Located on one of Union Square's most elegant streets, the Emblem Hotel is a sophisticated establishment. Its beautifully decorated rooms are as designer as the whole. In the lobby, bulldog Maximo stands guard over an elevator lined with old San Francisco social registers. The Library Bar serves classic American cuisine and hosts live jazz on Friday evenings during wine-tasting hour.

Funky hotel with a cozy vibe. 1 bed queen room was on the smaller side but absolutely adequate for our stay. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were very hospitable. There is a nice cafe in the building and a bar with snacks in the afternoon. Wish that there were black out curtains, ours were a quite sheer. The room AC unit worked on and off and required us to restart it a few times. Location is near all the public transit but nearing an edgier part of the city (but coming from Chicago that wasn't a deal breaker). Great deal for the price.

Irene, super awesome, and made our stay in San Francisco wonderful experience. Location and simplicity of the Hotel is exactly what we needed on this trip!

Great hotel, located very close to Union Square. Felt very safe and close to food and small stores for snacks. But, the best thing about the hotel was that the front desk staff was amazingly nice and helpful.
