We were ignored after being seated, no water no server. That went on over ten minutes. That's not acceptable, esp while the host and two waitress talked and laughed nearby. We were thirsty and had to keep waving until the host gave the waitress the nudge. We then had to request water. This place is slipping. Very very nice waitress and the food and drinks were ok. The tab for 3 half eggs, which had very little flavor, and a dish of brussel sprouts with two cocktails was very very high. Good view, nice live jazz.

Busy, wonderful lunch, had Flat Iron steak-perfect! Enjoyed refreshing lemonade with tea AND pineapple juice. My friend loved the fish & chips. Suggest they get an espresso machine. Coffee served in tiny cups, at least quickly refill. Busy, but great waiter. Other staff very helpful. Friends said they enjoy weekdays there. We ate a leisurely lunch on a Sunday.

Omg breath taking place and views. We were lucky, with no clouds, and could see for miles. Food was good too. Great place to take family and friends. Kid friendly.

Great lunch although it was expensive. Prosecco was cold, oysters were fresh, fish was fresh and expertly cooked, and service was impecable. Add to that great view and company and that makes it a perfect day.

I’ve eaten here many times, usually when I have family visiting. The food ranges from decent to excellent, but the service is always bad. Good luck getting refills, condiments, and it takes forever for food to come out. This has been my experience whether they are busy or not. After eating there today, my visiting family agreed they don’t want to dine at Beach Chalet anymore because the service always sucks.

Our lunch experience was rather disappointing. My King Salmon was still raw in its center, the fish n chips was delicious though. What disappointed me was the experience bringing my kido to the restroom. Obviously fathers are not supposed to care for their kids by this restaurant. And if your the owner, guy, get your workers dressed, Steve Urkel as head server while asking $40 for a main with no sides...

Really disappointed in the service of this establishment. My family has been coming here for decades and someone illegally charged our credit card one week later $50 for “Tip” which was already included on the original receipt. The manager hung up on us on the phone when calling back to clarify why we were charged without our knowledge. Incredibly rude and disrespectful. Be sure to look at your bank statements. They will not apologize for their mistake

Absolutely terrible experience, got in very quick and was sat down immediately. Although this was a good start, it took a waiter 10 minutes just to ask for our drinks. Took about 15 minutes to bring out so not the worst but still Pretty bad. Took 20 minutes just to ask what we wanted to order, and took another 20 minutes just to get our food. When we did, we got 0 utensils, 0 napkins, and my brothers burger took 1 hour. We had to ask 3 times for the burger and the server made the excuse “we read it as a duplicate order”, when I went to ask another server because this one was 0 help, I was given attitude and told to find my server as only they can help me with the situation. I asked the server for napkins 2 times, he never brought them. I had to ask someone else for them which they did it immediately, so shows how easy it was to do. Every time I talked to the server he responded with “yea” and absolutely no eye contact and had terrible attitude. When the burger finally made it to our table it was wrong, did not have brisket like mentioned, and tasted very mediocre. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT QUICK OR EVEN DECENT SERVICE! Horrible attitude, horrible service, decent food. Don’t come here ????

This is a restaurant though Google thinks it's a hotel. Food and drinks were good, and the view of the beach is incredible!

The service is always solid, and the menu has a good selection of modern favorites. I have been here many times. Its proximity to Ocean Beach, and the view across the PCH make it enjoyable for locals and travelers alike. I enjoyed the California Chowder, with a generous amount of clams. I usually get the main Lobster & Shrimp Roll, but everything is good. Their brewer offerings are excellent. Reservations are important. I am not sure why google thinks this is hotel, but this is not a hotel.

Beautiful location near the beach. The building definitely feels like an old chalet with history behind it, rather than a sterile hipster restaurant.

The menu/food and service were nothing to write home about however, probably average at best. You go here to experience the views.

I dropped in for a beer and got a chance to meet the Beer Master (Marco) Marco took the time to show me their setup, teach me a few things about brewing (I’m a novice brewer) and answer a few of my questions. The beers I tried were excellent and the attention the staff showed me was incredible, this is a hidden gem! I’ll definitely be back my next time in SFO!

The back garden hostess was incredibly rude to everyone she spoke to. We decided to pass on the whole experience. Terrible way to start.

Today was quite interesting. There are about 12 tables open but there was supposedly a 45-minute wait. Luckily we only had to wait 15 minutes but I did notice there were several tables open on the yard area and inside on the lower area. I think this restaurant may be having staffing issues today, so I've been here before and have not seen it like this. My guess is that the pandemic has affected many restaurants in San Francisco. Regards staffing but with all that the food was very delicious and tasty. So I will return once again

Decided to go for brunch at the Beach Chalet for my bday. Ocean views and food are not easy to find so we were pleased when we were seated right by the windows on the 2nd floor. Service was a little slow. My husband asked for sugar for his coffee and was just given sweeteners, he had to get up from the table to find brown sugar as we could not get anyone’s attention.
My strawberry rose Bellini did not arrive until well after our food and was not actually the right drink. I’d clearly been given the peach Bellini ( it was orange!) but the waiter insisted it was correct and that it also had peach added ?! I was a little surprised by the reaction and accepted the drink. I should have insisted it was re made.
But other than that the food was delicious and the views amazing.
Not sure we’d go back but I’m glad we tried it.

Beau bâtiment à visiter avant de se lancer dans la promenade le long de la côte. Bar et café sympathique, bien servi. Magnifiques cocktails (à prendre en y revenant, pas avant la promenade). La brasserie produit une bière typique.
